Day Pass

The Day Pass is a $3 pass that gives you unlimited rides on METRO Local Bus, METRORail and METRO curb2curb through 2 a.m. the next day.

It's not valid on Park & Ride bus.

The Day Pass that’s part of the RideMETRO fare system comes in two forms:

  1. Physical paper ticket that you can purchase at a ticket vending machine (TVM) located on all METRORail platforms
  2. Virtual pass that you can add to your physical or virtual RideMETRO Fare Card

It costs $3 and provides unlimited rides on METRO Local Bus, METRORail and METRO curb2curb through 2 a.m. the next day, but it cannot be used to board or transfer to a Park & Ride bus.

If your trip includes Park & Ride bus, you should not purchase a Day Pass. 

The Day Pass can only be used on METRO Local Bus, METRORail and METRO curb2curb.

It's not valid on Park & Ride bus.

There are three ways to get a Day Pass:

  1. You can obtain a physical Day Pass ticket from a ticket vending machine (TVM) located on all METRORail platforms.
  2. You can add a Day Pass to your physical or virtual RideMETRO Fare Card by logging into your account in the RideMETRO app or through the METRO Online RideStore.
  3. You can add a Day Pass to your physical RideMETRO Fare Card at any METRO RideStore location.

A Day Pass purchased from a TVM is activated immediately when printed and is valid until 2 a.m. the next day. The expiration date and time are printed on the ticket.

A Day Pass purchased in the RideMETRO app, through the METRO Online RideStore or at any METRO RideStore location is added to your RideMETRO Fare Card and activates immediately when you tap or scan it on a fare validator. It's valid through 2 a.m. the next day after activation. If you have a Day Pass on your RideMETRO Fare Card, the validator will use the Day Pass first before using any money stored on the card.

No. The Day Pass ticket purchased from a ticket vending machine (TVM) will be activated as soon as it’s purchased.

A Day Pass purchased in the RideMETRO app, through the METRO Online RideStore or at any METRO RideStore location is added to your RideMETRO Fare Card and activates immediately when you tap or scan it on a fare validator. It's valid through 2 a.m. the next day after activation. If you have a Day Pass on your RideMETRO Fare Card, the validator will use the Day Pass first before using any money stored on the card.
