METRO staff is actively involved in the Houston region in a variety of ways, including:

  • Promoting METRONow initiatives
  • Partnering with local organizations to promote public transit
  • Educating students and seniors about discounted fare options
  • Connecting record-breaking crowds to major events
  • Launching new services

Back-to-School Bash

Kick off the new school year at this fun-filled community event. There will be children's activities, school supply giveaways, free food, raffles and more. Meet with METRO representatives for information about our services and learn how K-12 and college students can apply for a discount fare card.

48th Annual PRIDE Parade

The annual parade will be held in Downtown Houston, starting on Smith Street @ Lamar Street, winding through downtown Houston to end on Milam Street @ Pease Street. This year, the parade procession will feature a decorated METRO vehicle.
