Corrective Action Compliance Reports

These monthly reports provide an audit overview and highlight the cumulative performance of the audit department for the fiscal year.

Types of Audits

The internal functions audit primarily provides internal auditing services for financial, administrative and operational functions within METRO. It fosters robust oversight and drives operational excellence through comprehensive evaluations. This encompasses rigorous assessments of internal controls, risk management, quality assurance, fraud prevention and compliance with industry standards and regulations. The department's efforts enhance operational efficiency, safeguard assets and support strategic decision-making, thereby advancing METRO objectives and strategic priorities.

The contract audit process adheres strictly to FTA Regulations and Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards operating independently of the contract negotiation process.

This type of audit provides professional advice regarding:

  • Elements, issues and other matters during negotiations
  • Awards, administration, pricing and settlement of contracts and subcontracts
  • Contract disputes

The contract audit includes comprehensive cost price analyses for each procurement to verify that prices are fair and reasonable. Furthermore, pre-award and post-delivery audits are conducted to ensure that manufacturers of rolling stock vehicles (rail and bus) comply with the FTA Buy America Act regulations.

The approach guarantees complete regulatory compliance, optimizes contract value and maintains adherence to best practices throughout the auditing process.

The Information Technology (IT) audit process is meticulously conducted in accordance with industry standards and best practices. It involves detailed assessments of IT infrastructure, system controls and cybersecurity measures tailored to the unique demands of the transportation industry. Our IT audits evaluate the effectiveness of technology management, data protection protocols and compliance with industry regulations.

This comprehensive approach safeguards our critical technology assets and identifies potential vulnerabilities. The approach also enhances our IT governance to adapt to evolving technological advancements and industry challenges.
